Tower Hamlets Mission

"Tower Hamlets Mission is a Christian Charity, committed to working with people suffering from alcohol and/or drug dependency, who are either homeless, in danger of becoming homeless or are receiving state benefits. Our aim is to enable them to break the cycle of chronic addiction definitively and to rebuild purposeful, stable lives through the provision of high quality, comprehensive residential therapy and rehabilitation."

Tower Hamlets Mission: 138 years and still going strong….

Tower Hamlets Mission was established in 1870 by Frederick N Charrington, heir to the brewery of the same name, to help the needy in the East End of London. His message was one of abstinence and love.

Today, Tower Hamlets Mission is situated on the same site and runs a three stage residential drug and alcohol service for men who are suffering from addiction. Many of those we help have lost everything, their home, family, jobs and friends. Many of those who leave having completed all three stages (which may be as long as two years) have new hope, a new home and the tools to live a new life.

We are looking to improve on what we already do. Please see the ‘Appeals’ page for information about our proposed future development(s).
