The Shopping List Appeal

Tower Hamlets Mission can only budget to known income and sometimes it is difficult to find the additional funds needed for renewal and replacement of some equipment. Listed are items that we would like to purchase but require extra help to do so.

Electrical Works: Health and safety of the Staff and Residents is of great importance, and there are minor electrical improvements that should be done to ensure everyone’s well being. This includes new external lighting along the driveway, and additional sockets to cope with the extra demand that we now have over the years. Quote from electricians for all the work = £1,500 plus VAT

Rear Patio Door: After 15 years, our sliding door in the dining room is suffering from constant use and wear and tear. A new aluminium door will cost approximately £2,200 + VAT (including parts and labour).

CCTV System: We need to update our CCTV system, which has grown old and tired. We would like to buy a digital system, which uses no video tape and digital cameras. Quote from electricians = £4,000 (including fittings)

Door Closers & ‘Dorguards’: In 1991, door closers were installed as essential fire safety equipment. Over the years, the lifetime of these door closers has passed and we wish to replace 10 door closers at a cost of £53.00 each. We also wish to add 14 ‘Dorguards’ (devices which automatically release an open door when the fire alarm is raised) at a cost of £110 + VAT each.

Total cost £2,339.50.

General Items: We always require such things as Tools (£250), Kitchen crockery and utensils (£500), gardening equipment (£250), general staff training needs (£500), books and literature (£350), cordless irons x 2 (100), ironing boards X 2 (£50), vacuum cleaners x 2 (£200), towels & bed linen (£300).

Terrace Furniture: After 8 years of the Terrace being open, we are starting to replace some of the worn out furniture. This year, we would like to replace some sofas with IKEA, Kilppan at £175 each. We would like to replace approximately 6 of these at a total cost of £1050.

 

Terrace Carpets: After 8 years, the stairwell carpets in the Terrace Blocks needs replacing. We wish to replace the carpet with similar heavy duty carpet at a cost of £1,111.25 +VAT per block. Total Cost = £3,333.75 +VAT
